“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”
What does guard mean? (To watch over, to protect)
It also means to keep things either in or out.
Keeping guard of your heart means being careful what you watch, listen to, smell, touch, taste, think, or feel. Saying things you're thankful for is one way to help think good things. If you start to do or watch things that aren't good, you should stop. Proverbs 4:15 says “Don't even think about it, don't go that way. Turn away and keep moving.”
If your heart starts going ways you know aren't good, ask the Lord to help you because whichever way your heart goes, your life will go.
Dear Lord, please teach me and help me to guard my heart. Help me to turn away and keep moving away from things that are bad. In Jesus' name, Amen.
